CEDO and the NaturArte cooperatives offer a great variety of activities in contact with the wildlife of the esteros, combining fun and adventure with culture and conservation. Everything is conducted in safe settings with full respect for the environment.

The tours take place in the esteros of the Northen Gulf of California, in the state of Sonora, sites of high ecological importance, unique beauty and a great richness of plant and animal life. In these esteros you will enjoy the beautiful landscapes, learn about the diversity of flora and fauna, meet the people who live here, gain an understanding of their way of life and lastly you can relax and taste their delicious products.

Tours are operated by expert naturalist guides from CEDO, and by guides loaned to us by the local community.

By participating with NaturArte you will be contributing to the local development and conservation of the esteros, with a great part of the profits going directly to benefit the people of the local cooperatives and the other part financing projects geared towards the continued conservation and biodiversity of the area.

The community tours are for small groups, directed by naturalist guides from CEDO and local guides from the cooperatives, they take place in secure settings with full respect for the surrounding environment and the local culture.

Other Ecotouristic Activities

CEDO has also been offering free natural history talks for many years in the main field station, guided visits to the Pinacate Biosphere reserve, Isla San Jorge (Bird Island), the sea of dunes in the Gran Desierto de Altar and the intertidal pools of Puerto Peñasco.
